New Students
For those that are interested in starting Kendo instruction at Westside Kendo Dojo, we recommend that you come by the Dojo on practice night and watch. It will give you a good idea on what is expected in this martial art and what our Dojo is like. Please arrive early and introduce yourself!
You do not need to have a uniform for several classes. Please wear comfortable pants and shirt that you can move freely in. When the head instructor has decided that you are ready, he will instruct you to get your uniform.
Once you have decided that you would like to begin instruction, please fill out the following forms and bring them and your payment to class.

Dojo Membership
Westside Kendo is a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation and all of the sensei/instructors are volunteers. All money collected goes toward facility fees and paying for each students membership in both the AUSKF and SCKF. Before students can practice at the Dojo, total fees in the amount of $96.00 must be paid. This amount includes:
- Monthly Membership Fee in the amount of $30
- Annual membership fee for the Southern California Kendo Federation (SCKF) $26.00
- Annual membership fee for the All United States Kendo Federation (AUSKF) $40.00
